Nice hotel in the country

Pros: The character and comfort
We stayed in this hotel for an overnight visit to the North East. It is within walking distance of the Beamish Museum. You really need a car to get around, although local taxis are helpful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a lovely big comfortable bed and the curtains blocked any light out very well. It is a quiet location. There were two weddings on that night, but no effect on our stay. It is an old and lovely building with an interesting layout. We would definitely recommend - there was a good choice of tea, coffee - with biscuits, bottles of water and toiletries.
