The hotel itself is lovely. The grounds and hotel are well maintained. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t fault them. Few little niggles though, we had asked for a role way bed for our 6 year old at the time of booking and I phoned the hotel a few weeks before to check it was all sorted and booked in. At check in I asked again if this was done and I was assured it was done. It wasn’t, plus only 2 towels in the room for 3 people and the plug hole to the sink was trapped shut. We called receptions and within 20 minutes everything was resolved, so can’t really complain too much. However it would have been nice not to have to wait for these things to be sorted. The restaurant was lovely and food delicious, although the menu choice is limited. The waiting staff are rushed off their feet and we waited 30 minutes before our drink order taken. Then my wine was served with ice! Very odd! The service was very slow and roughly around an hour between getting our starter and main course. Which is ok when you don’t have a hungry 6 year old! We were also over charged for our children’s pre set meal and charged twice for his desert which was part of a set children’s menu. We didn’t notice until later and didn’t want to make a fuss. The staff were so busy it seemed petty to ask for a refund. I felt bad that the hotel seemed at capacity but clearly not enough staff to manage things so they could run smoothly. All in all we enjoyed the stay & would stay there again

Have visited the Norton Park previously and would say this stay very disappointed. Clearly under staffed , happy to charge their going rate but service and delivery not matched. Bedroom had cob webs and a finger along top of prints.. oops the dust. House cleaning were invited into view. Social distancing not being adhered to in respect of wedding guests/residents, under staffed but happy to have the numbers and as a result areas left untided , accessible toilet full of vomit and just left having reported to staff , dining experience a shambles with dirty cutlery and lip prints on wine glass prior to use. The spa was nice but appears treatments favour spa day guests rather than residents as couldn’t book even before arrival. The grounds are still lovely but when facilities and service in hotel aren’t being looked after along with guests the distance and remoteness make me really wonder whether to return. Wedding parties truly ruin what should be a more tranquil visit. I’d also highlight no one to discuss with at check out and despite sending a lengthy email to manager complaining there has been no response nor acknowledgement and that about sums up the Norton Park for service or lack of.

Amazing grounds, could be such a great hotel if they had the right staff running the hotel. I would class this as a 2 star, no way near a 4 star.
