The hotel had double booked the room we had paid for...
Leaving my family stranded in Blackpool, having to panic and find somwhere alternative over the Easter weekend.
We did find an alternative, however this was not suitable, only one double bed for a family of three (husband slept on floor) and this cost £25 more.
No staff were at the hotel to tell us we had been double booked, instead we arrived, tired and ready to check in, only to find a message scribbled on an envelope to say we could not stay as they had double booked the room.
Terrible service!
They could have contacted us directly at any time before this, but did not.
Over a week later and we are also waiting for Hotels.com to contact the hotel and start processing a refund.
Absolutely appalling experience with both the Honley hotel and Hotels.com but wanted to share so other's are not left in the same situation are we were (going hotel to hotel trying to find somewhere to stay the night, when we should have been enjoying the time with our a 4 year old)
Due check in at 13.00 waited from 1230 till 230 before anyone answerd too be greeted with foul abuse as we had woke a someone up ( staff member) ( who was also high on drugs ) 5pm we eventually got checked in with no towles in room no toilet rolls in any toilet on returning speaking too other guests the staff member was arrested and blood glass on hallway floor at no point did anyone return any calls
We booked a long weekend away in Blackpool, from start to finish the experience was fantastic.
We stayed at the Honley Hotel which was in a perfect location for us. There was some renovation work going on which didn’t impact our stay one bit ( I was impressed by their vision for the hotel). Steve and the team went above and beyond, they really looked after us throughout our stay.
The room was as shown, clean, comfortable and well maintained.
I will definitely stay with them again and highly recommend you do the same.

My room had been double booked by the hotel and they were not able to find me another option. Although the receptionnist was nice and did her best to handle the situation, I can't recommend the place as it appears to not be very reliable.
Shared toilet and shower. No lock on toilet or toilet paper. No towels in room.
Blinds were missing slats. Furniture in room had seen better days.
Pillows were so thin to be useless.
Only good points were location and sea view.
Arrived lady was on her own sorting room was ready . No mention of separate toilet, and shower when booked . Dirty .. no cupboard or hanging space two beds smelly like sweaty awful . Cud ere people going toilet all night across landing so no sleep. Window didn’t shut so could ere people arguing.. towel was dirty stained glad I took my own . £36 yer , but dirty never again. Next time I will pay wat ever to Hav my own bathroom

The property is basic with basic necessities that you need to get your head down, we stayed for 1 night. Was very clean, smelled fresh. We didnt have an en-suite unfortunately but this didn't affect our stay. Upon arrival we were allocated a room which had a broken lock, spoke to the manager he moved us to a secure room immediately and refunded us partially which was brilliant. He also swapped the pillows, in the new room, at my request as i cant cope with miss matched bedding. Very friendly staff, helpful and made us feel welcome😊.
