I tried checking in around noon and was told there would be a $50 charge for early check in. I asked when I could check in to avoid this and was told around 1 pm (less than an hour from then). I indicated I could not wait that long for I needed to be at a meeting. She indicated I could leave my luggage there. So, I had to freshen up in the restroom behind the desk. Very inconvenient and I'm a Hilton Honor's Member.
Also, at night when I got back to my room, there was loud music coming from across the parking lot. I called front desk and asked about it. They knew and indicated that the band will quit by 9:30 pm as required by ordinance. I had a long couple days of travel and was planning on sleeping 8:30 or so. I asked to change rooms and the other room available was first floor by the elevator. So, I stayed and suffered through the loud music.They did stop around 9:40 pm. I remember asking the clerk at the front desk that I needed a very quiet room and this is what she gave me.
We be traveling to downtown Jacksonville at least monthly on business going forward and will never stay at this place again.
