2 stars is kind.

Room smelled musty,one of the bed box springs sweaked,could not even hear the waves from the room because of the noise from their machines that run 24 hours a day Booked for 3 nights only stayed one night and they charged me over $200.

It was a good stay however we did not get the room that we chose when reserving our room. Which was the only reason we chose to stay at this motel to begin with and kinda messed up our 1 year anniversary celebration considering the setting we chose was for a purpose… employees were extremely kind just not helpful on fixing the room issue

Great location. Poor city planning

Hotel room was right in front of the ocean. Roomy. Not in the best state but we didn’t go there to live in the room. I liked it didn’t have a carpet! Pool was small. You could walk right into the ocean from our pool area. I didn’t like there is also “right there” a sewer (?) 4-5 feet wide - emptying it’s contents into the ocean. We found them spaced on the beach. We had to walk like 35 min to see another one.

Hallway light outside of our room was out and it was very dark on the corner where our room was it. The ceiling in the hallway was also broken and missing panels. Inside of the room, there was a moldy smell throughout. The lights in the master bedroom were very dim and hard to see. The lamp in the living room was flickering. The kitchen cabinet door was broken and appeared to be punched through. The back balcony was full of bugs and the office said they were unable to clean them out for us. Also found a bug on one of our beds which ended up being the last straw for us.

The commode leaking ,the bathtub wouldn't drain so there was a double hand full of hair in the drain it drained perfect after we cleaned it ...there was 250.00 held on my debit card ,that had never happened before ,I had too prove too the girls in the office that I paid 600 dollars up front too Expedia and all that was owed was 94 dollars they at first told me they wanted too hold 450.00 but then they knocked it down too 250.00 so check in was a real hassle and not sure I want too stay at sugar sands again this was the 4th or 5th time I had stayed there never had a problem before and never been charged a deposit ..

Terrible beds

Room was clean, kitchen stocked better than I expected, staff nice, surprised there is a $50/night damage fee and y’all the beds are old and terribly uncomfortable. Squeaky springs bruised my hips and man my back hurts! Hate it too bc this is pretty nice place other wise.

My 1st and last stay at that hotel

Staff was nice and informative,smoked detector beep off and on but finally stopped,didn't have a body mirror nor a peep hole on the door...housekeeping went in my room and front desk didn't let me know until after i went and said something,then they stated that housekeeping doesn't speak English and upon booking nowhere did i see that they charge you $150 that goes towards the room if its any damages,i called the hotel before arriving no one said anything about a hold fee that you get back in 5 to 6 business days...Beach view was great
