I had paid for the room in June,( 6 months in advance)only to find on my arrival that the hotel was over- booked, and my room was no longer available. An absolute disgrace, they had already taken my money. Had to switch to another hotel, with a rock hard bed and lumpy pillows. I will never stop in a Hampton by Hilton again.

There was a lack of staff. The reception staff were having to serve at the bar and prepare meals too. We waited almost an hour for pizza on our first night, after being told it would take 20 minutes. Our hospitality tray was not replenished during our stay. The dining area wasn't large enough to accommodate the number of guests for breakfast.

I went down for breakfast at 8.50am (it goes on until 10am) and the small area that was set up for self service breakfast was ransacked, with no more coming out (whilst I was there for 20 mins). I didn’t bother going down for my free second breakfast!

Expected a little more standard from Hilton. Staff were polite enough but not very professional by chewing gum and eating. One staff member from the reception took a plate of food from the breakfast buffet for herself and ate it behind the reception.

The staff was quite good,the room spotless the bed very comfortable and a 50 inch or more TV .The hotel is next to St Paul's tram station assemble from New Street train station follow signs to Metro ,walk left out of hotel past garage you will see Tesco Extra across the road bigger food store .
