Excellent hotel

Although we had to wait for our room to be ready, we were asked if we wanted a different room but we were in no rush, we had an excellent stay. The staff were very polite and helpful, the room was lovely. I have stayed here for business in the past and was not disappointed then and was not disappointed this time! Highly recommend

TV disconnected and no remote control on arrival. Called 3 times to reception to get sorted, phone nevere answered When I reported it the following morning it was fixed on my return for the second night stay. Windows covered in mould...see pics

Fantastic hotel. Ignore the slightly dowdy facade, this hotel is great. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable, the hotel clean an inviting as soon as you walk through the door. I go as far to say the best Holiday Inn I’ve stayed and I travel regularly. Special shout out to the receptionist

Great location

Having stayed at this hotel several times previously, I had no hesitation in booking again. It is in a perfect location for both Railway station and Birmingham Hippodrome. Breakfast was better than on previous stays.

Great location but got caught out in a cold room

It was a cold winter day. We were allocated a room with no heating, but a small electric heater was already in the room. It didn't do much and the central heating was out of order. We asked for it to be rectified and they brought us another tiny heater. When we complained, we were moved to a warm room! result! the breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. And of course, the location is great for the travelling and shopping.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay. My room was located directly opposite the lift, leading to constant noise from inconsiderate guests. The view from the room was of loud extractor fans, which made it nearly impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, the room was freezing. Even with a small oil heater, I had to request an additional duvet, which took an hour to arrive. This experience has unfortunately overshadowed my previously positive stays. I usually find Holiday Inn to be excellent and accommodating, especially as someone with a disability, but this time it fell far short of expectations. I am unsure if I would recommend it to others or if I would choose to stay here again.

Disappointing stay

When we were allocated the room, we found out that the safe didnt work, we informed reception and they said someone would come and fix it but nobody did, the room was advertised to have a fridge but it didn't and the pillows on the bed were like concrete slabs. Although the room had ben recently renovated i was disappointed with some aspects of the room. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and never had any issues so needless to say we were disappointed as we were there a birthday weekend. On a positive note the breakfast was fantastic as normal.
