I like this hotel and use regularly on a monthly basis. Yes, it’s a dated hotel, but its a very charming reminder of the beauty it once was in its day. The staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. As a lone female traveler, I feel safe here. Any room requests etc, they happily oblige.

Booked deluxe room, stayed previously a few years ago in the basic rooms and can't say there's much difference other than the view, although the view is nice but overall decent stay and average breakfast.

I last stayed in the Imperial, some 30 years ago. Now sadly it feels likes any other budget style hotel. Its finesse, and high standards of quantity, are sadly long gone.

Generally a very nice hotel, however our 3rd floor room was like sleeping in a Sauna. Given it was the middle of July, im not sure why the heating needed to be on.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Imperial hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Bed was very comfy and plenty of hot water. Would certainly recommend this Hotel.

Check in is so slow it’s painful . My room was dirty had to turn duvet over as cover dirty , bathroom bin dirty and thick with dirt just below sink. Overall the room was poor quality and neglected. Stains on curtains and carpets stained plug on fridge full of dust . Furniture old and chipped, handle missing off table . Most disappointing as the hotel itself is lovely just the room and check in let it down badly .

Lovely stay, friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. Hotel slightly dated and needs a lock of paint in a few places but that adds to the charm. Ideal location with parking and also a tram stop just across the road. Breakfast selection was excellent. Highly recommend.

We liked our room, we asked for a fridge and fan, it was provided 😁 Breakfast is always good, plenty of choice. Nice polite staff. Very nice oldy worldly hotel. However,like I said previously, the hotel is a bit worn and could do with an upgrade. Such as better chairs in the rooms, curtains should be easier to open, window rattled on Tuesday night with those high winds, I had to put a piece of cardboard in to stop it. Doors to the rooms are sometimes difficult to close and you have to let it slam shut for it to close properly, thus disturbing people at night. We could hear doors slamming throughout the night. Overall, we have stayed 3 times in the last 12 months and have enjoyed our stay. Would definitely go back there.

No hot water the morning after we arrived which as we were out all day at a funeral, this was extremely inconvenient. Tried ringing all departments from the room but no answer from any of them. Went down to reception who said they'd switch the boiler on, but it didn't heat up until we were going out the door. Hot water is fundamental to any hotel stay.

Fire Alarm causes some inconvenience.

Overall we all enjoyed our stay at the Imperial (we have stayed there a few times before). On the positive side the room we had was comfortable, clean and spacious. We had breakfast on both days and that was nice with a good selection to chose from. Suggest that a wee sign is put up to say that if you want poached eggs (rather than fried eggs) you just need to ask. Staff service was good and prompt. The hotel is an old style hotel that in my view would benefit from some modern touch ups (i.e bedroom furniture and old style plastic shower curtains). Our stay was interrupted by the fire alarm going off at first intermittently and then permanently on the morning we were checking, which necessitated getting up out of bed several times before finally going outside. Whilst this was annoying my complaint is that no-one from the hotel spoke to any of the guests standing outside (some in PJs) and advised them what was happening or where guests should gather, this was very very poorly managed my the hotel management. Will we stay at the hotel again? Yes.

no.147. The bathroom door under the handle was dirty, the window wallpaper was hanging off, the desk chair was stained the view was terrible, the breakfast was really good, it obviously was a grand hotel in it's day, but needs a lot of renovation in the bedrooms. .

Sadly the property is tired, its in need of many millions spending on it, sadly I doubt it will happen. The wooden windows are rotting. The staff are good, however for some reason the check in took an absolute age, to do 3 couples took over half an hour. The breakfast was excellent, and I would like to thank Dave for for his help in that department
