Property is old and quaint. Was nice and quiet. Rooms are small and comfortable although very warm. There was a fan which helped.
Fantastic price for the location
It is a great location for exploring Edinburgh. Within walking distance of shops pubs and restaurants.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooms, comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would return.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the location was ideal, with a shopping center nearby and easy access to the city center. It’s an experience I would happily repeat!
Loved my stay at this hotel in Edinburgh. The room was nice and spacious. They were very kind and kept our luggage until our room was ready. The staff were very friendly. I liked the location and easy to get to good places to eat and shop. It was also close to the bus stop close to our pick up for our Highlands tour.
Ive stayed a few times at the Place for business. The hotel is in an excellent location easy walk from Waverley train station. Staff are always great, nice bar and good breakfast. See you again soon.
Small room and a bit cramped but that was fine for me for a work visit, including some work at the desk, tho ironing needed some moving of chairs etc. Hotel nice and with good location and nice breakfast. Window on to street wasn’t a great sound barrier to Christmas party goers but again fine.

Stayed here for the Christmas markets.
Super convenient location wise.
Stayed in the cosy double and it is cosy! Nowhere to really hang stuff on (coats, towels etc). Was quite loud with doors swinging shut. Cleaners also came quite early and were v loud.
Staff were great. Lounge was cute.
Had the large exec room, the room itself was good very big nice bathroom etc but whilst the bed was big it was to large singles pushed together with one slightly higher than the other so may as well had a single bed which is disappointing.
Bar shut early on Tuesday got back at 10:30 was already closed and no in room drinks available so again not good.
