The hotel is in a fantastic old building and it was nice to see features like the old staircase left intact. The staff that we met at the hotel were all absolutely fine and the house keeping staff do a genuinely excellent job. Sadly some parts of the experience at the hotel were a bit diasapointing. The room we stayed in was fairly cold through much of our stay,not because the heating system was faulty, but a combination of high ceilings and large windows and a relatively modest radiator just can't cope. On the subject of the windows the wooden frames behind the secondary double glazing were gruby and desperately in need of a cleanup and repaint. I hope the building gets the care and attention it needs, It could be a genuinely excellent experiance.
