Nice Budget Hotel

Tall ships break

I had a lovely stay. Hotel very convenient for Tall Ships and a great location for shopping and train station. Staff were very helpful and really friendly and welcoming.Room was spotless and bed very comfortable. Buffet style breakfast had a good choice and was more than adequate. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Nice run but a lot of noise (external / internal )

Nice room, impressive shower cubicle. Rather a small window, not much of a view. Name of hotel is misleading since it is not on the quayside but two blocks away. Even with doubleglazing a lot of traffic noise. Also a lot of noise from other nearby rooms and the corridor, lots of bangs. Breakfast fair - had run out of wholemeal bread which did not impress me.

Overnight stay

The staff member who checked us in could have been a bit more welcoming. Room was dated. Could do with a renovation but the bathroom was great. Beds were comfortable and pillows good. Breakfast was more limited than other hotels we’ve been in. Heard other guests keeping on asking for more plates, butter etc.

Nice size double room and surprisingly quiet at night. Fantastic shower and comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was good. Location fantastic, near the train and bus stations and near the centre.

The Ibis is well-situated if you need to catch a bus or train from the Union Square area, or if you’d like to go shopping at Union Square or Bon Accord; it’s also within walking distance to the University of Aberdeen. The Maritime Museum is literally across the street, as is bowling, pool, and a movie theatre if you have time! Staff were friendly upon check in and out, and were more than willing to help with printing off a last minute copy of a conference paper I needed. Breakfast was good as well; I would definitely stay here again.
