Lovely staff, Lovely location, lovely and clean. I would not stay at this hotel again as in warm weather you need to keep your windows open and the street noise is horrendous. Had about 1 hrs sleep all night.

This stay was perfect for a reasonably priced night in Brighton. Room was clean. It was quite noisy overnight with doors opening/closing. Staff were great. Overall, it was good value.

Handy for Brighton or Hove

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from Brighton station on the busy Western Road which continues along to Hove. The reception is at ground level between shops with all rooms at higher levels. My room was satisfactory though the mattress was a bit springy. Furnishings were functional – the shower was good plus there was a safe and little fridge contained within the wardrobe. Rooms are serviced upon request at reception. The buffet breakfast offered various hot and cold items. Boiled or fried eggs were cooked to order as an alternative to the scrambled ones in the buffet. My boiled egg was very under cooked but they did a better job with the fried eggs. Considering the location there was not much external noise at night but my stay was mid week. I’m a light sleeper and I was awakened early each morning by delivery vans. My friend had a different room and he was kept awake by an air conditioning unit on an adjacent lower roof. He was able to change rooms the next day and was told the unit was connected to the Sainsbury’s store. As the hotel just has a doorway on the street level I found many guests who smoked stood around this entrance so that did not create a good appearance. Overall the hotel is similar to a Travelodge in a central location – not far from attractions, bus routes, shops and the beach. The staff I met were pleasant enough and I would probably stay there again.

A mix between a YHA and student halls

If you can’t get a YHA and you have to find the cheapest room you can and aren’t looking for any thrills; this is the hotel for you. It’s like student accomodation with an en-suite toilet but we had an awful mattress.

Our room was quite small. There was a noisy generator or fan outside our room which was quite annoying. No Air-con so the room felt warm and stuffy, difficult to sleep at night.

This hotel is pretty old and hasnt been updated for a long time. Staff are perfectly pleasant but this is definitely a hotel for gigs/weddings/one night only

We did not stay as reschedulimg for snother day was not possile. This was not with yourselves but through hotels.com. However I feel by using them to book your rooms, you should be aware of how they are annoying potential customers who will probably not book with you again.

Clean comfortable room but very noisy because of central heater or huge fan underneath. Asked to change the room but was told hotel fully booked. Reception ladies in the morning were much more friendly and helpful than the guys in the evening

Well situated and clean. reasonably priced for Brighton. Room was hot. Couldn’t leave window open due to noise from extractor fan. Fortunately there was a fan. More of a student accommodation atmosphere than hotel. Staff young and somewhat disengaged especially at breakfast. Fried eggs/ extra fruit were available on request but that wasn’t made clear. Poor communication and customer care skills possibly due to lack of training . Room was clean but wasn’t cleaned after my first night ( I stayed 2 nights ) maybe you needed to ask if you wanted it cleaned. Again, poor communication. Maybe the hotel is targeted at students or young people. As a 77 year old woman I would think twice about staying there again.
