Overnight stay

Comfortable stay as usual. This was 4th stay at Lensfield. The only criticism was that matters was much firmer than what we’re used to.

Upon my arrival at the hotel, I encountered a disappointing experience at the front desk. The staff member, appeared to communicate in a somewhat dismissive manner. When I inquired about the possibility of checking in early, her response was less than accommodating. After some discussion, she permitted the early check-in, but I was assigned to a room that was not properly serviced; it was unclean and lacked adequate heating, leaving it extremely cold. Despite my efforts to adjust the heating settings, the room remained uncomfortable. When I expressed my concerns, the response I received suggested that I simply use additional blankets, which did not address my discomfort. As a result of this unsatisfactory experience, I made the decision to relocate to a different hotel that prioritizes guest comfort and cleanliness. Furthermore, I encountered difficulties when attempting to cancel my reservation. The Expedia app malfunctioned, preventing me from finalizing the cancellation until after the applicable window had closed. Overall, this experience has been quite disappointing, and I have decided not to return to this hotel or consider any of its affiliated partners in the future. While I wish I could rate my experience lower than one star, that is the minimum rating available.

Lensfield Hotel, Cambridge

Room was very comfortable. Beds very comfortable. Shower room and bedroom very clean. Traffic noise was loud (room at front near road). All staff were very helpful. Parking available.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. We only stayed for one night. I think I'd look for somewhere else to stay if we were looking or a multiple night break. Unfortunately our room was in the basement directly next to the street so the room felt very dark and claustrophobic as we had to keep the curtains closed to avoid passers by looking in. It was also extremely hot, even with the radiator turned off, so we had to sleep with the window open which made the room very noisy and we felt a little on edge with passers by so close to our room. The bed was also extremely springy which made for an uncomfortable night sleep, and it was on wheels so it moved a lot and made a very loud squeaking noise. The room was nicely decorated, however, overall I expected a bit more for the money we paid.
