Check-in was horrific. We arrived at 4pm to be told one of our rooms wasn't ready. When I said "but check-in was from 3" the lady replied "Yes I know!" when I asked what time the room would be available she said that she didn't know and there was nothing she could do and would get a manager to speak to us - still waiting to speak to the manager. Audrey - the other lady on reception was amazing. She really saved the day! Her service was first class and she was so helpful she really made the stay a positive experience for us. Apart from that other receptionist, whose name I didn't get, the other staff were great too. Dinner was delicious but breakfast was disappointing- no clean bowls at the cereal, food not being replenished when it was low. I went to the hot food and there was 1 sausage, no eggs and only 2 rashers of bacon left. This should constantly be topped up. Room was clean although a bit dated. Wifi was rubbish in the room.

Room could use a better clean. Attention to high dusting needed. Bathroom radiator, toilet roll holder built up dust from a long time. Swing bin broken and dirty. Light switches dirty. Net curtains ripped. Bathroom radiator only worked one night so couldn’t head the towels. Hair from previous guests left in bath plug hole. Staff were nice and pleasant however. Other guests were quite loud in rooms next door on a couple of nights so didn’t sleep well those nights. Wasn’t a fan of the buffet full breakfast. Eggs overcooked as sitting a while. Fresh to order is always best. I only ate cereal and ham and cheese after my first cooked breakfast. Evening meals were nice but a small menu to choose from.

Arrived late Friday night, checked in and went to room. Found cobwebs on the ceiling, stains on the lamp shades, and hair all over the carpet. Looked like a hoover had never been used, utterly disgusting. Moved to another room which was no better and bathroom was worse. There were several large cracks in the sink and what looked like faeces on the curtain. The sink had been painted, presumably to hide the crack, but was also chipped and broken. The TV guide didn’t work as the date was set for 6 months previously, and a quarter of the mirror was missing. The last occupants also left dirty socks and even though we informed reception, no one came to remove them. The price of our meal was reimbursed as an apology but we won’t be back. The receptionist did say that the cracked sink has been like that for months, so they were certainly aware. Such a shame as the hotel looks beautiful from the outside, the food was good and the gardens are lovely, but not worth sleeping in a dusty, unhygienic room for.

We Stayed for three nights with daughter & her husband. The hotel was lovely and very clean. The bar lounge had no atmosphere and was not welcoming. An artificial plant had been taken out of b ox and stuck on sideboard, nobody tried to arrange the leaves so it looked reajnn mmmm Some background music would be nice evening menu choice was not very good.

Easy check in. Had a big room which was clean and comfortable but very dated. For example net curtains had big holes in! The bed was comfortable. The bathroom clean and nice towels but the shower was very hot and the control didn’t cool the temperature down. Also the radiator was either off of extremely hot. We had it turned down to lowest temperature but it was still extremely hot making the room unbearably hot so we left it switched off. Our room was above the kitchen area and we were woken at 6 by very loud music coming from the kitchen area. We rang reception to complain but couldn’t get an answer. This is our second stay at the hotel but probably wouldn’t stay again.

Disgusting

There was nothing good about the stay, I followed your description of the hotel and it was not a true reflection of the hotel. I will not stay here again and feel cheated having paid upfront otherwise I would have moved hotels. The shower was covered with long black hair before me taking a shower and this remained on the shower wall for the 3 nights. Disgusting…. The bed was made but the tea, coffee etc wasn’t replenished.
