Welcoming staff, I stayed on 5th floor. Small room but sutable for my needs. I paid extra for a window view which looked onto Haymarket rail station. There was noise from outside until the pubs closed.

Shared areas - stairs and corridors were very untidy - in need of good hoover. Had to change rooms as first room was poor with poor lighting and space - second room was much better - will stay again

The hotel is excellently placed right by Haymarket train station and has a large pub/restaurant next door. The staff were very friendly and help, with quick responses to messages when I realised I’d left a ring in my room after check out. I would definitely stay here again on a visit to Edinburgh

i stayed for four nights and five days there. i had arrived very late at night and they were very accommodating to me and my needs, answered questions, filled water bottle, and throughout the week I received new towels and came back to my room with a bed made up and trash taken out. it was a very clean, nice, and warm place to stay while it snowed for the first couple of days and it was new years so it was great. its walking distance to nearly everything and the train station is right across the street.

The room was cold, coffee and tea making facilities were at reception due to the lack of space in the accommodation. navigating two hot cups of drinks to the sixth floor with those heavy fire doors is optimistic at least! The bed was so uncomfortable we thought that it was going to collapse

The location is undoubtedly the hotel’s best asset. It is situated in a safe and highly convenient area, with the airport bus stopping right outside for both arrivals and departures. Additionally, its proximity to Haymarket Station makes navigating the city effortless. I also appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning, the all-day hot water, and the effective heating system, which was perfect for those sensitive to the cold. However, the experience was dampened by noticeable maintenance issues, such as loud, squeaky pipes that were particularly disruptive late at night. The most significant drawback, however, was the cleanliness. While towels were replaced upon request, they often had visible marks, forcing us to contact reception for further replacements. Most disappointing was that during our six-night stay, the room was never once cleaned or vacuumed. Given the limited space, having to walk on the same area throughout our stay, either with our shoes after entering the room or after showering, was very unpleasant. Furthermore, the air vents are in need of a deep clean (as shown in the photos). One of us suffered from a persistent dry hacking cough that only occurred while inside the room and ceased immediately upon leaving. Lastly, there were marks on the walls from day one that should have been addressed by housekeeping.
