comfortable and welcoming place

In a residential area so quiet at night, only 5 mins walk from the main hustle and bustle and about 200 yds from the tram to get to the airport. Get off at the West End stop. Nice restaurants nearby and pubs if you want.

Great location for Usher Hall

Pros: Efficient check in and out, very friendly staff. Comfortable room, great breakfast.
Cons: Not sure what it would be like in summer if no air-conditioning.
Location: Just a few minutes walk from Princes Street, in a quiet location, not far from gardens.
Second stay here, both times for concert at Usher Hall. Great location, far from the madding crowd but only a short walk away from everything. Room was upgraded on arrival, which was a lovely surprise.

Super location, super hotel!

Pros: Quality of the rooms is very high, the food was superb and the staff very friendly.
Cons: My room was a little cramped, but still comfortable
Location: Was there on business, but the location is cenral, but quiet.
Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and excellent cuisine!

Mid Week Break

Pros: Location. Hotel situated within walking distance of Haymarket Train Station (12 minutes walk)
Location: Centrally located and within walking distance of train station, tourist attractions, restaurants.
Excellent hotel situated in quiet area of West End well within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and Gardens as well as other tourist attractions.

Fabulous weekend

This hotel is perfect for couples to have a weekend away. It is luxurious without being pretentious. The décor is subtle but nice both on the ground floor as well as the rooms. Our room had a lovely bay window with armchairs to allow us to see the great view of the Forth. The overall atmosphere is one of relaxation. It is central enough to be able to walk to most restaurants in the centre of town but also close to the rail and transport links. A couple of minor points - no box of tissues in the bathroom and the cooked breakfasts could have been warmer and not served on a cold plate. However, overall, a great place for a chilled, relaxing weekend and will definitely go back.

Superb city centre hotel

Great base for Edinburgh city centre activities. Short stroll from Modern Art Galleries and Water of Leith in one direction and city centre in other. Lovely New Town location. Room was spacious, well appointed, nice decor and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Didn't have meals in hotel apart from breakfast which was plentiful and very tasty. Definitely one to go back to.
