Perfect location for a easy, flat stroll into the city. Very quiet and peaceful place. The rooms were clean but in need of an update. Not particularly generous with the tea & milk in the room, despite my repeated requests. Man in reception was helpful and friendly, the manager took some persuading to let us leave the car in the carpark on checking out in order to make the most of our time in Oxford but in all fairness, they were fully booked.

Cold.

Pros: The staff.
Cons: Heating.
We had stayed before and found it ok and convenient for central Oxford.This time the room was cold although the radiator was turned up as far as possible, and the bathroom was freezing. In the morning the radiator was cold and we were told that the central heating was turned off at 8.00 AM, although they did put a portable electric heater in the room. At breakfast we were told that the brown bread (for toast) had run out (at 08.30). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay very much. A very convenient position for town centre. Away from the hustle and bustle but a short walk away from town centre and everything one wants to enjoy in this fabulous location.

Variable experience

I was disappointed in this hotel. I was allocated a garden room and asked to change as didn't want to sleep on the ground floor, I paid for an upgrade only to find the drape above the bed was filthy with dust. When I spoke to the receptionist I found her curt and sharp. I eventually spoke to someone senior who was absolutely lovely and professional and moved back to the garden room. This was actually nice although phone didn't work. I was given a free dinner to make up for things. It wasn't a bad hotel I just felt disappointed and felt they needed to pay more attention to some areas of customer service

This is a comfortable hotel convenient for Oxford.

Pros: It's convenience to Oxford centre and it's easy and free parking. In addition it as spotless and the dining room was very nice.
Cons: Soon rooms need better soundproofing and some rooms were small.
Location: This hotel is well situated for Oxford centre being a ten minute walk. It s near to the very interesting district of Oxford called Jericho.
We really enjoyed Cotswold Lodge as staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the hotel was a convenient walk ( or short bus ride) into the centre of Oxford. The hotel decor was pleasant and the sitting rooms comfortable. Whilst our standard twin room was spotless and well decorated it felt quite small for two. In addition the soundproofing was not 100% as we could her guests upstairs returning at night. Having said that we would return but ask for a larger room in a quiet spot.

A good experience

The hotel was in a good spot, 10 minutes walk from the centre in a lovely quiet situation. The staff were very friendly and polite and could not do enough for you. The breakfast was just ok and not worth the £12.50 it cost but was a minor quibble as overall our stay was very pleasant.

Hospitable, Helpful and Handy

This hotel is good value and in a good location, within walking distance of Oxford City Centre. My single room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were happy for me to use the hotel car park either side of my one night stay. Dire traffic when I was due to head home led me to opt for a bar meal while the rush hour dispersed, and I was very impressed at the quality.
