Not terrible, but I wouldn’t return.

We arrived early and were told the room would be available in about a hour. It was actually available just after the official check in time. I would have been just fine knowing the time was at 3 - why set unrealistic expectations? The room we were in was below ground level, which makes for a dark atmosphere. The shower drained so poorly that we had to turn it off in the middle to avoid creating a flood. The people were nice but. didn’t seem too focused on service. Or was the kind of place where they know you won’t come back, so why bother. If

Everything from when we entered to checkout was perfect. The building is unique and landscape is beautiful. Rooms are bigger than the standard European hotels. Service was excellent! Walking distance to everything. One of the best experiences I’ve had this trip. Must stay when in Oxford.

Beautiful unique property slap bang in the center of Oxford. Very friendly staff. Only downside for me was the pillows shrunk down to nothing once you lay your head on them. A very minor detail of course.

The concept is interesting but can’t excuse neglecting updates. For the cost I was surprised by the cheap fixtures and industrial carpeting. Mildew in the shower and dirty room service dishes left in the halls. Definitely not worth the price.

If you want to sleep do not stay here, they share a recycle bank with surrounding bars who dump there bottles in the recycling bins at 01.15, 02.30 & 05.30. This happens every night. Along with this the council waste collection arrives Sat & Sun at 05.30. On arrival at reception they swarm on you in a rush to get your car taken away as no onsite parking. They ask when and what time you want your car over the weekend how are you to know when you have only just arrived. I would never stay there again.

The cell rooms do not have a window that opens , there is no AC. The rooms are hot and stuffy, glad to be home . A basic fan was provided, reception said the issue was being addressed. Although similar reviews go back a long time.

A great place to stay on the edge of old Oxford.

What a quirky hotel on the edge of old Oxford. Easy walking to all that Oxford has to offer and copious restaurants and cafes on your doorstep but that said, the hotel does have a very nice restaurant downstairs so I'd definitely give that a try. Tip - pre-book your parking.
