We were actually surprised that we had such a nice stay after reading the reviews. You get what you pay for at the end of the day and we paid £40 for a twin room. It was clean and comfortable we got a lovely sea view and the shower was great. The only problem was the check in we waited about an hour in the queue as they required photo id and a lot of the guests checking in were unaware of it so it held everybody up, thankfully we had ours. We would definitely stay here again.
The wait for check in was so long, I believe we were there queuing for 50 minutes so bear that in mind. The room itself wasn't very clean, bits of dirt on the carpet and hairs in the bath.
But you get what you pay for and I definitely wouldn't pay more or stay more than one night.
The bed was comfy and the room had a nice sea view.
Pleasant stay clean room didnt get much sleep due to people above banging and shouting staff frendly and helpful

The room was very good value.it was near town and not far the beach.the staff were quite rude and unfriendly.i paid for a breakfast which 12 pound on top of the room.it was disgusting!greasy, rude staff.it was cold and not edible.bacon like cardboard.was shocking value for money.would not recogmend!
Room had mushrooms and black grime .
Receptionist put us on 6th floor , they said couldnt check because they were "cleaning" room . Manager said they havnt cleaned those rooms in a while . Dining service was terrible only offered alcohol for limited time . So dinner we weren't allowed alchol with it.

The grand grand.
Only stayed 1 night. But enjoyed it. Will definitely stay here again.
Room was horrendous, telly didn’t work, dirty mouldy windows, dirty rusty radiator, blood smears on walls, chipped old furniture, no room to walk up sides of bed, limited drinks in bar areas. On the bright side breakfast was nice.
Couldn't fault the hotel, considering the building is 150 years old it was in great condition, very well looked after, everywhere was clean and tidy. It was -1 outside but the whole hotel was lovely and warm, very relaxing. The staff were all nice and very helpful, the food and the dining room were great. The only thing that let it down was the parking outside, not enough spaces.
i left a day early the room was noisey being next to lifts it was hot and very small for a double and lit up all night from a light in window opposite it was impossible to get a drink there was always a queue of about 15 because the bar person was clearly overwhelmed i don't know where the coach loads came from but they were fighting in the bar and you don't expect that in a hotel

We found the room really clean and cosy. The only issue we had was when the toilet flushed a nasty drains smell came from the shower plug.
Booked double twin when in room only one towel , no heating no wardrobe or cupboard space, windows scruffy cups brown scuff marks. Felt as if room was for a single person.
The reception are was great cant knock that where we was situated it looked like it not been hooverd for a month the windows looked like they have not been cleaned in 6 month and as for the cooks and chef they should be retrained or got rid of
