The room and view was amazing
Room was absolutely beyond and above aspectations .
Every extremely clean but only sugestions was that windows was not very Clean.
I understand that pigeons have already their places and is hard to maintained but it just too fantastic view and windows could be a little bit more clean
The only good thing was the weather, The hotel is a little past its best

Poop in the hallways, very noisy, good shower
Well, on walking through the hallway there was actual faeces on the carpet spread everywhere. Went and informed the front desk who was aware and was "apparently" from a dog. The room was okay but the toilet kept making noises all night. Only 2 pillows that were quite plump and no extra blanket or bath mat etc.
One great thing was the shower, even though the bathroom was smelly.
Also, the seagulls will be noisy all night and wake you at 5am.
I am sure back in the day this hotel was pride of Scarborough. However it is a very tired and outdated now.
Beds - terrible
Room condition - stale smelling
Secure room - my son pushed the locked door and it opened
Bathroom - wife or kids wouldn’t shower as it was so dirty
Sorry guys, wish I could say it was an enjoyable stay but it wasn’t

We often stay at The Grand. It is nothing fancy, but it is clean and welcoming. The bed was a little uncomfortable this time but the bedding and towels were pristine white. The room was quite small but no complaints. When you're paying less than £65 a night for a double room in the school summer holidays, what have you got to complain about?
Queue on arrival at half 3. Went quickly. Room was clean and tidy. Shower didn't work properly. The fan in bathroom didn't turn off with the light or a switch. Leakage from the shower head. The room door didn't feel secure. Otherwise the bed was comfy.

Queued literally one hour to check in. Ridiculous not being able to do so until 3pm. During your stay the room doesn't get cleaned unless you ask, so most of the cleaning is in changeover rooms. 9pm at night and no coke behind the bar. No channels on room TV so we tuned it in ourselves but it wouldn't do it, just a blank screen with 1 January 1980 on it. So looks like TV is 45 years old 🤔.
Check in was horrendous, nearly 1 and a half hours to check in, people jumping the queue, people vaping in the queue, only one person on checking people in which was just silly.
No tea making gear in the room.
There were long queues to check in - even though we had checked in online as advised, we still had to join a 50 deep queue to get our room key which took about 45 mins. There were no staff around to organise or direct people apart from the 3 ladies on reception who were frantically trying to check everyone in.
Room was ok, we paid for a standard so expected what we got, there were stains on the wall but otherwise the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Sadly this hotel is charging premium rates for mediocre rooms and service and is in real need of updating. If you are looking for a bed for the night that's clean & comfortable then this place is ok but you could save some £££ by looking elsewhere!
The hotel is very tired, needs a lot of TLC. The restaurant where we had breakfast was scruffy and dirty, although the breakfast itself was good.
The room was more like a hostel, very basic. Bathroom floor, toilet and shower was dirty. Had to unplug the fridge (randomly placed, our friends room next door didn't have one)to plug in the kettle. The towels and bed linen were clean. Such a shame for an iconic old hotel which in its heyday would have been stunning.
I checked in on line but still had to queue for one hour to collect my key, once i was attended to there was not even an apology forcthe wait.
We were on floor -1, there was piles of dirty laundry on the floor and in carts all along the corridor. The corridor and stairs to this floor were scruffy and dirty. The kitchen was very close to the room and the smell of grease permeating our room was awful.
I would not recommend this hotel or hotel group, and would not return.
