As old Victorian or Edwardian seaside hotels go it was in good condition , quite modern decor if not a little gaudy. Staff helpful and friendly . Breakfast a little limited but Ok. Parking onsite but limited.

Really enjoyed our short break at the Grand, room was fine clean and comfortable, floor a bit creaky! Bathroom good with a shower over bath. Breakfast good and bar made a lovey mulled wine!

Overall a lovely stay. Staff were polite, helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was welcoming and fely cosy. Reception, lobby, lounge, library, bar and restaurant were beautiful but the room we were in was a little tired decor wise. I do love the old features and understand it is an old building but some areas needed a little attention.

For a grand hotel, it was "okay". Our first room was spacious, but bed was so soft and uncomfortable, and room was HOT! Saying that we did request a change of rooms and this was accommodated. Bed and heat much better, but the shower was terrible, leaked on to floor that I tried to absorb with towels, the shower curtain sticking to me the whole time ... saying all of that, not exactly a major issue, the staff were amazing, food was good and the lounge area was lovely.

Original room in extremely poor condition carpet full of bad stains walls badly marked and window would not open. 2nd room also in very poor condition and noisy. Breakfast not up to a 4 star hotel. Have visited the hotel on occasions since 1973 but will not return again.
