Loved the ambiance and comfy beds. Tired in places externally at front planters and at back railings needing paint up. Black / normal Tea not filled daily. Breakfast rate too expensive. Should. Provide a hybrid option . Yea and toast for example 10.00?

The Victorian style is maintained overall, cleanliness standards and food delivery are good. Parking is unnecessarily expensive, many public areas need refurbishment including furniture, tv services in rooms is poor. Wifi is adequate.

The property is stunning. It does need work but you can overlook that when you see the stunning views. We had an issue with our room. Reception Roshanne resolved our issue which was amazing customer service we were upgraded to a suite with a sea view and the views were amazing. We were very lucky. Would definitely go back it has so much charm. The walk into the Harbour wasn’t too far

Overall a lovely stay, but some disappointments We were really happy with the room and the location – the view was absolutely beautiful and truly one of the highlights of our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference. However, there were a few let-downs that stopped it from being a perfect experience. On arrival, we noticed a sock left in the room, some dust, and one of the drawers had crumbs and debris inside – not quite the standard of cleanliness we expected. We brought our well-behaved dog with us and were aware of the £20 per night pet fee as stated on the website. However, it also mentioned that a dog bed and bowl would be provided, which we never received. In the end, we paid an additional £60 for our dog to stay, even though we were out most of the day. On top of that, parking was £10 per day, so we ended up paying £30 more just to park. Altogether, we were charged £90 extra at check-in, which felt a bit much considering what was promised. Despite these issues, the location and staff were both so lovely that we would stay again – but we hope these concerns are addressed for future guests. Not completely satisfied this time, but the potential is definitely there.

Locked out.

A formerly very grand hotel that has succumbed to the passing years like so many other seaside hotels. Amazing views over Torquay Bay. Room was very dated and brown from top to bottom, but had new curtains. No fridge in room. I took a walk in the hotel garden only to find myself locked out. No way to get back into the hotel except with a combination code that wasn’t provided. This hotel could be the Imperial Queen of Torquay but needs lots of investment.

Deluxe room with seaview.

Nice big room. Had a sea view however there is a huge pine tree in the middle. Room was very big with a very nice and clean bathroom. Check in was easy enough. It is a classic old hotel that could do with some updating. Didnt dibe in so i cant comment on that. Overall a very enjoyable stay abd when the wife says she would stay here again you know its a good hotel.

Place is a little dates, and need some upkeeping. The staff was great. Nice, helpful, accomodati h. Dinner was terrible. I still cannot understand How a professionale chef can kill cooking a plain Sirlon stake. Over cooked, hard to cut and Chew, zero taste. The sides were as much tasteless. Crazy menu prices, you needed a special chart to understand it. The menu would give a price but than for each of the item you order, there was a supplemental charge. Never ever seen it in my entire life. I have travelled the Worlds for last 50 years and never encounter something like it.

Tierd room and uncomfortable bed 😫

The staff were v friendly and helpfull,we only stayed one night with breakfast,Our room was v tierd and we didnt want to use the wardrobe as it smelt v unpleasant inside.The bed was v hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were like bricks ,so hence we didn't sleep 😪.The bathroom was more up dated but when using the shower the shower curtain just stuck to you everytime you moved .We did enjoy breakfast and once again the staff were v good.
