Michael was very welcoming and helpful, as was George. Eclectic, warm and cozy furnishings, comfy bed, good shower, hearty fresh cooked breakfast. About 1/2 mile from the city center. Lovely, tree lined street with period homes. Not far from a little Sainsbury’s market, short taxi ride from the train station. We look forward to coming again in the future.

15 minute walk to city centre and parking onsite which was a bonus, breakfast was excellent, the downstairs bar was only open from 4pm till 8pm and apart from some traffic noise as our room was situated facing the main road everything was excellent. We even had a fridge in the room which was useful. Staff were great and we had a very relaxing weekend in York thanks to our hosts at the Burton Stone Inn.

Room was clean. The bathroom was tiny though. Walls are thin so could hear every sound from neighbours. Not ideal if like me, you are a light sleeper. Hosts for checking in and out were very informative and friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Distance to York centre approx 15 mins walk away. Parking free and appreciated being able to leave car after checkout so we could finish exploring York. Overall a nice place to stay.
