Loved our stay, staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was lovely, it was great to see the original features. Breakfast was proper lush as well.

The hotel is in an amazing location in York, close to Yorkminister cathedral and in the midst of the old city. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were pleased to get early check-in as our room was ready. The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. Be aware that the hotel does not have air conditioning - that was the only downside for us.

DO NOT stay at this property if you want to sleep past 4.50 am. Road noise/bucket carts/deliveries commenced at 4.50 am, single glazed windows (I understand it’s a conservation area) do not keep out a conversation far less lorry engines and sounds of loading or unloading.

Great stay

Cosy room, comfortable bed and quiet. I stayed for a night and slept really well. I requested for a takeaway breakfast which they kindly provided. I will book again.

Fantastic central location. Friendly, helpful staff and we were able to check in early. Although the room was small it was perfectly adequate for our needs. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfortable as well. Highly recommended.

Central location

This was more Bed & Breakfast than hotel and was an ideal location for a one night stay in York. Easy to access from the Shambles area. I should have done more checking however as no car parking outside hotel and had to book at local car park 5 mins walk away. The hotel room was a small double and a little small for a couple. Would have been a perfect room for a single person. Breakfast was served downstairs in the Forest bar and was a great start to the day
