Comfortable hotel well known and liked on the south side of the city. Out of the busy centre but handy buses etc. Good parking facilities. Slight downsides were that the room was a little too warm for us even with the radiator turned off, and the foam pillows a bit too firm.

Excellent value for money, and a particularly friendly and welcoming team of staff.

Pros: Room was excellent - with views looking out over Edinburgh.
Cons: There was a wee problem with car parking. It is a very popular hotel and on one occasion we had to park in a nearby street as the car park was full.
Location: On the Southern outskirts of Edinburgh but with the Morningside area close by, with its excellent shops, bars and restaurants.
I knew of this hotel from my working life on training courses etc so I knew what to expect and it met these expectations. Staff were very helpful.

A three start hotel in every way

An ageing hotel, with no lift and night reception staff who can't count stairs - their 12 was our 30. The decoration varies around the corridors depending on which period that were last refreshed. Some carpets were quite threadbare. The smallest shower room we have ever seen. The hand basin hot tap was so close to the mirror that my wife couldn't grip it. Breakfast was very average. No poached eggs and the last bastion of the meatless commercial sausage. Staff were friendly and helpful. Handy parking around the hotel.

brilliant!

The hotel is on the outskirts of Edinburgh, we had two rooms ajoining, which was perfect. Food excellent and staff very helpfull. Have already recommended this hotel to a friend and we look forward to staying again in the very near future

Great stay in Edinburgh

Super staff in good location with great transport links into city centre. Good bistro food in adjacent BuckstonePub.Got better price from Internet which was surprising.
