Room temperature 17 to 18.5 degrees Asked twice for it to be turned up and it wasn't. Against UK guidelines, poor from HIE 34. According to CIBSE Guide B, rooms must be maintained at a minimum temperature of 20ºC ± 1ºC. The maximum temperature must not exceed 28ºC

Great views of the city including the castle from rooms facing that way (ours was on the 3rd floor). Lovely, quiet neighbourhood. Bus stop right outside servicing several buses to the centre in 15 minutes or a 40 minute very picturesque walk.

The Holiday Inn is well situated and a good base for exploring all that edinburgh has to offer,the bus stop just infront of the hotel. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. I found the room to be on the small side but perfectly adequate for myself and partner,i found however that there was a cold draft coming from the window and at night time the light from the corridor was shining through the bottom of the door as there was quite a gap and this also let in a bit of a draft so we used one of the bath towels rolled up along the bottom of the door to resolve the light and draft coming in. Breakfast was nice something for everyone,was slightly dissapointed to find there was no potatoe scone on offer as it is renowned on being part of a good scottish breakfast and for visitors staying wanting to enjoy the Scottish experience it would of been nice to have. Over all i enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Lovely hotel with great staff

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Second time to this hotel love the location , leave car in car park and use the buses ( which are just across the road) to centre of Edinburgh only takes 10 mins . The staff are so pleasant and helpful, llove the bar area and restuarant , we had a evening meal there which was lovely , and the breakfasts were the best. We will be using this hotel every time we stay in Edinburgh again.

Well positioned close to city centre.

Pros: Position; very helpful staff at front desk; view from the room
Cons: bathroom, including door
Location: just across the street to M&S and Sainsbury
Staff at the front desk are very helpful. A nice view of Edinburgh city from the 4th floor window. Bathroom needs to be refurbished. Hotel may be reached easily

Fantastic for a weekend away but not for 3 adults

Staff are amazing, hotel and food amazing, prices alittle high but worth it. Only bad thing was we asked for 1 room for 3 adults and the room was rather cramped. Other wise we would really recommend this place
