I’ve been to Edinburgh several times for work and stayed in many places although this was my first time at the Salisbury. Overall I’m glad I chose to stay at the hotel. Some of the room decor would benefit from an upgrade to give a higher end feel but it didn’t impact the visit. The room was clean, comfy and had a decent shower. Due to a late arrival the hotel arranged self check in, which was easy to do. Will definitely use again.
Slight further out than we had realised but getting into the Old Town area was walkable in 30 mins.

Bathroom was in need of upgrade and not in line with rest of the hotel. Sink was cracked and repaired with mastic and bedroom
Window took two men to open!
the salisbury hotel is set off a main road but is still very quiet
definitely a boutique hotel and the single room was lovely with a fabulous ensuite with free toiletries/shower gel/shampoo..great shower as well
loved the window seat and shutters...with luxury curtains
bed was very comfy and there was a mini bar/snacks..which didn"t use
there"s also a kettle and coffee machine..nice touch with the wee packet of biscuits
didn"t have breakfast as prefer something more than a continental...but the hotel does recommend the wee cafe across the main road..which did go to..very nice
there"s a pub called the abbey further down the road turning right when you leave the hotel and does a full breakfast with tea/coffee for £7,50
there"s many buses that pass the hotel to take you to/from the centre of edinburgh...get off at the salisbury place bus stop and hotel is just round the corner
walking to/from the centre of edinburgh took me 25 minutes to reach the royal mile
i was in edinburgh for the castle of light and the salisbury hotel was very reasonably priced compared to others
will definitely stay here again..
staff are brilliant and friendly
Very helpful staff at reception. Attentive to our needs. Excellent area to stay with plenty of eating places and supermarkets in area. Warm rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast is available but is a limited buffet style with lovely staff. Car parking available. Excellent value for money.

Hotel and staff were lovely. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms the shower pressure was a bit naff but that’s to be expected in a big house.
Breakfast was okay, I didn’t realise the cold breakfast was to be paid after our stay. If I knew this I would have eaten else where as I don’t think it was worth the money for what I ate.
We really enjoyed staying here. Spacious, comfortable room and the bed was super comfortable. Friendly helpful receptionists. Very close to Arthur's Seat and an easy bus ride or walk to the centre of the city. A good continental breakfast available. Lots of restaurants close by. A great little hotel.
We had stayed in a standard room previously but stayed in a superior room. Superior room is a great size. Breakfast was good. Parking appreciated and the staff are super friendly and heloful. Location is great too.
