Beware of Early Morning Construction Noise

I stayed during a period of ongoing construction work at the hotel. Unfortunately, building activity began as early as 4:30 am, with trucks arriving every 30 minutes to load and unload materials. The constant noise made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Guests should be made aware of this in advance.

The hotel is like a building site - it should not be open to the public - the construction works started banging and drilling at 7.45.Dust everywhere The heating was not working, so they brought up portable radiators. The general manager was nowhere to be seen - worse, stay never again

The property was right where we needed it to be in terms of accessibility to the heart of the city and the train station. It looked nicer in the photos than in real life, mostly because they were promoting renovations to the property that were not yet complete. In our rooms, the fixtures were older, but our rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We would have preferred to know in advance about construction, but the staff were gracious and let us into one of our rooms early, since it was ready. We were tired from traveling and needed a chance to rest. Staff were very nice and professional. They held our bags for us after checkout. The breakfast was tasty and available until 11 am, which we appreciated.

The hotel is being re-vamped, which is fine, however the toilet seat in my ensuite wasn't fitted properly, the shower didn't work, the room was very noisy.

Comfortable rooms

We booked two rooms for one night. Both rooms had large beds, good facilities and were clean. Breakfast was lovely with the usual full English and continental available. The only problem was as it was a Saturday night one of the rooms had a problem with noise from the street of revellers. Very friendly staff and the refurbishment is not a problem.

Great location

We stayed here as we were attending a concert at the arena. The hotel was in the perfect location for the train station which was just around the corner. It was a bit of a walk to the arena but we wanted to get food on the way so it gave us the opportunity to find somewhere. At check in the staff were super polite and ensured we had all the information we needed. The room was clean and tidy and the facilities in the room were great with an iron and hairdryer to hand if needed. We booked the breakfast in the morning which was beautifully cooked and very filling. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again.

The room was very basic furniture wise, there was a safe, tea, coffee, biscuits, iron, fan. My room 221, the shower was just a dribble when on hot and at 5 in the morning there was a rubbish collection
