Beautiful hotel in a great location in York. Breakfast was great too. They were very accommodating for our little dog. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in York again.

The room was lovely and the hotel same and the staff very good only thing we didn't like was the breakfast where it's now buffet style so had breakfast in Betty's whitch is very good and memorable also had the tasting menu which I didn't think had much flavour wood definitely stay there again only eat elsewhere which we did

Very dissapointed booked and paid for Executive double but given a cheap standard double with cracked walls ceiling coming off very bad for this hotel its more a 4 star tgan a 5 star . Bedsheets torn dirty bathmats the staff are not very trained and not helpful. The manaher doesnt cate about guests needs and has ignored my request to speak to me about this. The throw on bed was stained like vommit staff here cannot cope with guesys and need improving on their attitude as well as more professional training. For a 5 star hotel its bad and not acceptable but this is more a 4 star. Having stayed here on 6 occasions in the last 2 years the staff still cannot get it right . Offer double rooms with 2 twins stuck together very misleading but clearly the manager doesnt care about guests.

The hotel was just wonderful, right from the moment the very helpful doorman took our bags so we could go shopping unti it was time to check in ! They knew it was my 60th birthday and left drinks, birthday card and beautiful chocolates in the room for me. We (there was 6 of us) ate at The Rise restaurant in the hotel that evening and the starter and main course of my choice was free as a birthday treat!!!!! Molton Brown toiletries in the large beautiful bathroom too, I truly was in heaven. Thank you all so much guys it was my absolute pleasure to stay here!

We have stayed at this hotel 8+ times and have always loved every aspect. This time though we have been dissapointed. The main lobby was dirty and cobwebs in the light fittings. The fridge in the room didn't work, the meal in the restuarant was bland and not nice. The room service trolley wheel came of when they arrived with breakfast and the said breakfast was cold, didnt include everything we had ordered and just not the usual standard. We have always paid a premium to stay at the Grand to experience the high standards but We shall not return!

Within mins of the town centre, Excrllet staff from the time you draw outside to walking into your very large room. Menu choice, food preperation of the highest standard. Well worth its stsr rating
