The reason you book a hotel is for the overnight stay. And tbh i didnt get much sleep at all, maybe its was stress or something else but i could not sleep, the bed wasnt that comfortable either was too hard for my liking. room was nice size with basic furniture, had tea and coffee no coffee maker just kettle. no satellite or premium channels just freeview.... theres a distinct lack of plug sockets, some lights didnt work and cob webs in places. breakfast was a buffet but not self serve and very basic, we only had the eggs and hash brown from the warm items, hash browns were stale, didnt taste fresh, otherwise ok for the price. good for parking and if going star city, you should walk as star city parking is ridiculously busy. more cars than people. be careful when exiting the hotel car park as its onto a busy dual carriage way and cars come fast...

Cheap and cheerful has a free car park and Hasvur cinema Pizza Hut Subway and many other fun things to do st walking distance

convenient location - close to the M6

Pros: the location

Cons: car park and the staff

not the friendliest bunch of staff. The lady at reception could have benefited from customer service training as everything was too much trouble for her. The aircon in the room was not working therefore could not warm the room up . They could have provided us with portable heaters or fan. the entrance to the car park needs to be levelled out as my car suffered damage to the suspension due to driving over this which resulted in costing me £150 of repair works so not very happy at all!!

General service of staff

My overall experience wasnt brilliant. We had travelled a long way to stay in this hotel but the staff just were not very friendly especially at the time of having a bite to eat in the evening. As I am not Familer with the area I did not really want to drive looking for somewhere to eat. There was 5 of us staying at this hotel in two separate rooms. We decided to eat. The rest if the group managed to have something but I'm a vegetarian so opted for a couple of options they had on the menu only to be told that they weren't available or had been discontinued. I didn't really fancy paying 2.50 for a tiny bowl of chips but I had to as I was a bit hungry. I found the staff rude and unhelpful. As soon as we checked in and got to our room there was a smoking smell although we had opted for non smoking so I complained but nothing was done, our window didn't open and bathroom wasnt very clean and was told that someone would come up but nobody came even after the fifth time!!!! Alot of rooms on our floor had people smoking in them and I told reception many times but nobody bothered to do anything. I mean overall the hotels location was nice and it is a nice one to stay in however the service of the staff was appalling and I was left standing at reception on several occasions whilst they were all in the office having a chin wag about bank holiday plans. I wouldn't recommend the hotel and lost definitely would not be in a rush to come back. I was offered no refund or anything so I am slightly annoyed.
