The reception staff were professional and welcoming. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation (transformation) project, for example the existing bar and dining area are rather tired. The parking was expensive - £15 for 24 hours! We did not appreciate their cashless policy.

We booked a double room & got two beds pushed together..!! The air conditioning wasnt working properly. Room too hot even though we turned the air conditioning down it reverted back. Friends of ours had a room on the next floor & they had the same problem with the air conditioning! Clearly the air conditioning wasnt working properly. The room only provided one pillow each for the beds . You would expect to find additional pillows if required. None in the room. Took a photo & showed the receptionist, only half a flush button on the toilet half broken off...!! We realise the hotel is under refurbishment but surely you wouldnt expect have these issues..! Put off of using another Ibis hotel.

The hotel & staff were great, breakfast good with a wide choice, the meals at the bar had a good choice, but the only thing I would say was the the food needs to be hotter & be served on hot plates, from the bar, the food was served warm, but but buy the time you half-way through eating, it is cold. All staff were very helpful in forfilling all & any request.

Room was very tidy and relatively comfortable. The staff were courteous enough, but could do with learning how to smile every now and again. The breakfasts were average at best, and the evening meals were well overpriced for what you were served. Steak pie with a blob of mashed potato and a ramekin of congealed " gravy " for just shy of £17 ?. No veg. Just one small pie a small blob of mash and a blob of gloopy gravy. I won't be staying again.

Awful! Can I give it minus stars? £300 for a scruffy, smelly, mediocre hotel. I’d feel hard done to if I had spent £80 a night. Add insult to injury, you then get charged £15 a day to park. Paying £300 for a night for a single adult in a room, surely parking can be covered. I get it is in the middle of renovating. But come on, either reduce the costs or try and keep it tidy. Shower was a waste of time, head was broke so I think the floor managed more water on it than me! Just avoid

Functional hotel currently being upgraded. Check in was very good, rooms clean and decent breakfast all for a reasonable price. Purpose of staying was for attending a gig at the BP Arena part of the NEC which was about 15 minute walk away.

It was a literal building site. No pre warning, no instructions from reception after gleefully charging for overnight parking. I walked an entire hotel hallway with raw overhanging wires, debris all over the floor, tools and broken fixtures. HSE would have a field day. Finally broke through a barrier at the far end and found our room and it delightfully overlooked the dumpsters and was right over the kitchen I presume from the amount of staff out there shouting, smoking and slamming the door of the storage portacabin. Don’t get me started on the sofa bed. This stay sucked.
