Nice hotel very central for getting about

Weekend trip

Booked into Abode for 2 nights based on location, reviews and also parking. £6.50 for 24 hrs in Glasgow city centre is a bargain and the car park was a very short walk from the hotel. The interior of the hotel was beautiful but when we tried to use the lift to get up to the 3rd floor we weren't able to as it was in use by the hotel staff for moving cleaning equipment, after waiting for 5/10 minutes we made our way up very carefully using the beautiful but work out staircase which my heels had a slight fear of. Upon reaching the room it was nice but a lot smaller than we expected, the carpet was desperately calling out for a good scrubbing and the duvet cover had a very obvious hole right in it, when attempting to use the remote to switch the television on and off I soon realised I would need to abandon it and use the buttons on the television. I would expect minor things like this to be taken care of. At night the noise levels were a nuisance and felt like we were in a club, and I once again faced the issue of not being able to use the lift as it was jam packed with trolleys of towels which the cleaning staff just looked at me apologetically for. Wold I personally stay there again? Most likely not but I'm sure if I were to and had the guarantee of a ground or first floor room that faced away from the noise then I'd perhaps have a better stay.

Beautifully maintained hotel in the city centre

I only stayed at Abode for one night, but I'm glad I did. Usually with a mid priced hotel you would expect the same generic facilities and interior, but Abode is a different prospect altogether. From the historic steel gated lift, to the quirky and well presented rooms it was a class apart. The staff were all fantastic also, friendly and polite without being overbearing and more than willing to help with recommendations etc.

Cons: room size, ok for one night

room small when opened curtains looking onto other room so felt very uncomfortable , went for meal in hotel restaurant had steak could not cut it veg all cold could not give us hand cut chips and very given thin frozen french fries very poor, check all tuck box items are there we had no water but on the list.

Great overnight stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Arthouse Hotel in Glasgow. The staff were friendly and the room was nice and cosy and spotlessly clean.

Lift funktionierte leider nicht und die Klimaanlage im Zimmer war so laut, unerträglich. Mussten diese ausschalten. Sonst aber eine empfehlenswerte Adresse für einen Aufenthalt.
