Basic needs modernising

Helpful staff on late arrival. Hotel bedroom area dated, bedroom n ensuite equally dated. Room was cold, room controller was broken. Bed was at least comfortable. Needs modernising.

Hotel was in a central location near the station,shops,also near the cruise liners.Was an easy check in,room , bathroom were clean.staff were friendly and helpful.had a relaxing stay.

The room felt a bit run down, and there was an odd smell - on checkin it was very strongly scented but as time went on the scent faded and the smell became noticeable, and very unpleasant. The water pressure was terrible in the shower, felt like getting drooled on rather than a proper shower. The tub was nice though, and the shampoo and soap smelled nice.

Overall an acceptable option my only complaints are the heating wasn’t working properly so the room was freezing, also the tubs were to high making hard to get in/out.

parking worries

great for an overnight stay but the parking sign in / paying is a worry. paid but they didnt take number plate details so there is no association with your vehicle,. and being here for a two day conference I signed in 4 times, drove out to the end and then drove in to restart just to cover myself for a £100 fine. it just doesnt work and not what you want to be thinking about when you are here for a conference.

Room was small but clean enough, no lock on the bathroom door. However we saw a few rats just outside the building after parking (which was £10 a day…) Check in was easy however our room number (me and my friend, both women in our early 20s) was said out loud to a busy lobby which made us feel a little unsettled. We got back to the hotel late at night and had to again say our room number out loud to be let in. Instead of this, a staff member said “What there’s four of you in one room?” as our friends had walked us back and did not open the door (in -2 degree weather lol) until I explained this. Other Ibis hotels I’ve stayed in have been a lot better however :)
